Terms of Use
1. Nature of the service
Lex Gazette is an independent, source-linked legal research service. It is not the Government Printing Works, a court, the Master of the High Court, CIPC or another official registry. The relevant Government Gazette and official registry remain the authoritative sources.
2. Professional access
Protected material is made available to registered users for lawful legal, fiduciary, insolvency, compliance, due-diligence or research purposes. Users must keep credentials confidential and may not allow another person to use their account.
3. Permitted use
Users may search, review and use records reasonably necessary for their stated professional purpose. Users must preserve source context and verify material against the cited Gazette and, when appropriate, the relevant official registry before taking legal or commercial action.
4. Prohibited use
- Identity fraud, harassment, intimidation or unlawful surveillance.
- Unsolicited direct marketing or unrelated profiling.
- Bulk scraping, automated harvesting or credential sharing.
- Public republication of complete identifiers or identifiable Gazette records without a separate lawful basis.
- Creation of an unrelated personal-information database.
5. Authentication outcomes
An authentication outcome records the service's source-linked verification result at the time it was produced. It is not an identity warranty, legal opinion, credit report or guarantee of present status.
6. Corrections and accounts
Users must report suspected errors. Access may be suspended or terminated for security reasons, unlawful use, breach, expired access or a requirement imposed by law or a competent authority.
